My current work explores the shift in communication as a result of coronavirus.
Prior to the quarantine, I’d noticed the fact that even in public and in crowds,
most people were glued to the phone screens. With the pandemic, human interactions
is mostly through facetime and zoom. My proposed exhibition explores this massive
change in our communications and opines on the significance of this moment in our
evolutionary history.

On July 10, 2020, Jada Pinkett Smith re-introduced the world to the word “entanglement.” The exposure of this celebrity affair inspired the artist to explore society’s obsession with the salacious aspect of this drama, romantic relationships generally, and the many ways that everyday persons find themselves entangled.
In a previous interview, Will Smith, Jada’s husband, shared the revelation he came to that he was not responsible for Jada’s happiness and that they were each responsible for their own happiness.
This 10 painting series is about relationships, personal, romantic and societal. Nii’s work invites us, the viewers, to examine the circumstances under which we may find ourselves entangled, i.e. in an affair, in a job, or in the pursuit of wealth.

"Why question" is an art series I am working on. It is about one’s sexual orientation, choice, and preferences. It is a conversation that has been part of our lives for generations. It has been public and private conversations with different opinions. I have always asked: “Why question others’ sexual preference?”

As relative as art is in our livelihood, I have echoed as an artist through various mediums and in my own ways to reaffirm the conviction that life itself is an artwork, irrespective of the creator we are all enfolded by works of art.

During the 7 month period I converted my living room into a studio to conceptual document this experience through series of acrylics on canvas, the lines creates shapes and forms that mimics the subway lines and architectural landscape of New York City through the composition of the musician.
Globalization transcending regional boundaries has broken down personal limitations, presenting one and all with a cultural world view. By means of digital technology we are seeing straight into each others cultures.
